This kit is of the standard 4 window Brush open top tramcars. At the turn of the century when the Preston works were being constructed to build the prototype 3 window cars, the Brush Electric Eng. Co. Ltd. chose the four window lower saloon design for their standard four wheel tramcar and many hundreds were constructed for narrow and standard gauge British systems. The version with drop window frames in the saloon windows has been chosen for this model.
These cars were to be found working in Birmingham, the Black Country and Poole. They were also the main class of car on many B.E.T. and municipal systems such as Airdrie and Coatbridge (later Glasgow), Erith (later L.T.) and Gt Yarmouth.
