The Newcastle class A cars were numbered 111-130. They were originally built as short canopy open top cars (see kit KW 002h).
The cars later had their canopies extended, and then many were converted to balcony cars, with 180 degree stairs.
This kit is of the class A cars once they had been converted to balcony cars.
Some of these cars were later sold to Sheffield (see kit KW 010).
